The Swiss agency for promotion of Innovation has a specific energy program, and energy days are organized every year.
Energy utility companies are also supporting new projects, such as Swiss electric, who has a yearly research award which was granted to GreenTEG in 2009 (developping low-cost thermoelectric generator) and produced a great clip about their product. GreenTEG was also supprted by venture kick ) ,

Interesting that you mention energy efficiency, because in the U.S., that's where a lot of value can be easily created (compared to cleantech). Just by smart insulation, and changes in materials, a lot of costs could be saved for heating. It's also a topic of collaboration between CH and the U.S.
Soo much value, sure !
