The Swiss biotech startup ProteoMediX wins 130‘000 CHF at the latest venture kick round. ProteoMediX evolved from a research collaboration of ETHZ with hospitals in Zurich and St. Gallen. The spin-off developed a new blood-based method to find specific proteins and diagnose more precisely whether a patient is infected by cancer or not. The first product currently developed is a test that enables the diagnosis of prostate cancer with significantly higher accuracy than today's clinical standard. Therefore, ProteoMediX saves lots of men to undergo very unpleasant biopsies and with this reduces health expenditures significantly. What tremendous impacts of Swiss innovation!
